Job Description
We are currently looking for highly customer-focused and enthusiastic Desktop Engineer to support our client, predominately based on their site in Scotstoun and providing support to sites in Govan and Hill End when required.
This is a full-time permanent position working 37.5-hours per week, Monday - Friday between the hours of 07:00 - 19:00.
Due to the nature of our client's work the successful candidate will need to either hold or be able to obtain SC Security Clearance. For this reason we are only able to progress with applications from British nationals.
As a Desktop Engineer you will be involved with:
* out security audits of all devices holding data on the network by scanning and reporting
* – Installations, Moves, Additions and Changes
* of all in-scope managed devices
* and Eyes Support to visually verify the state of managed devices
* Support including special project activities as they arise
* Management & Stock Management
* the lifecycle of loan user equipment
* directly along side the client managing own workload whilst liaising with other teams or vendors to resolution
* as a central point of contact for the customer
* and system fault diagnosis, analysis and fix
* responsibility for stock used
Essential Skills and Qualifications:
* have, or be able to obtain UK GOV Security Clearance at SC level
* clean UK Driving License
* trouble shooting skills
* experience in a similar role with ITIL environment
* Support knowledge including Microsoft Windows XP/7/10 onwards
* communicator both face-to-face & over the phone
* Windows Share\File permissions
* connectivity (E.g. Android/IPhone)
* of SCCM
* knowledge of HP Workstation, Desktops & Laptops
be able to deal productively with a high workload with minimal supervision
* Great attention to detail
Desirable skills / qualifications:
* Certification (MCSE/MCSA/MCP’s)
* in relevant manufacturers hardware qualification (HP)
Basic Network Knowledge (Patching, tracing switch information etc.)
