Retail Manager - Naval Ships
Salary: £35,006.40 per annum
Location: Royal Navy Ship / Ship Shoreside
Hours: 40 hours/week
Note: The successful applicant will be based on a Royal Navy ship and may be away from home for up to 10 months per year.
NAAFI offers an exciting opportunity for an experienced grocery retail manager to work aboard Royal Navy ships in the Navy Canteen Service. This role will enhance your skills and test your abilities in a unique environment.

Responsibilities:
* Lead, develop, and train your team to achieve success and deliver excellent customer service
* Strive to meet and exceed sales, budget, and profit targets; manage costs and wastage effectively
* Follow operational procedures to ensure proper management of stock, cash, and back-office systems, minimizing risks
* Ensure all health and safety regulations are adhered to, with timely completion of relevant documentation
* Promote a culture of learning and development to support staff potential and succession planning
You will be comfortable working away from home, living in confined spaces, and maintaining professionalism to promote the NAAFI brand. The role involves deployments worldwide, working onboard ships or in various outlets globally, including Germany and other locations.
Requirements:
* Proven experience as a grocery retail manager
* Excellent customer service skills
* Resilience under pressure
* Self-reliant with proactive problem-solving skills
* Ability to pass ENG 1 Medical, Sea Survival course, and obtain security clearance
* Willingness to spend significant time away from home
* Understanding that this is a demanding role with long hours, but with opportunities for leisure during deployments
