Bank Medicines Management Pharmacy Technician – HMP Bristol
Oxleas NHS Foundation Trust is recruiting a Pharmacy Technician to work on the bank at HMP Bristol as part of the South West Prison Healthcare contract awarded in 2022.
Role Overview
You will provide medicines management services to patients within the prison under the guidance of a prison service pharmacist. This includes administering and dispensing prescriptions, supervising assistants, managing stock, ensuring safe storage and reporting deficiencies.
Key Responsibilities
 * Administer medicines to patients against a valid prescription, ensuring correct dosage and timing.
 * Provide advice to patients about the appropriate use of medicines and promote healthy lifestyles.
 * Dispense prescriptions and stock items in the dispensary.
 * Supervise assistants during the dispensing process.
 * Perform stock control tasks: top‑up services, review expiry dates, and maintain storage facilities.
 * Report any deficiencies to the prison service pharmacist.
