Overview
As an Installation Engineer (Security Systems), you will be responsible for delivering high-quality installations of IP CCTV, Intruder, Access Control, and PIDS systems within substation environments. The role requires effective collaboration with specialist sub-contractors, strong client engagement, and a commitment to delivering projects to the highest standards. You will provide regular project updates, complete accurate documentation, and work closely with security teams to identify and develop Fire & Security opportunities. A proactive mindset, excellent communication skills, and a dedication to quality and customer satisfaction are essential. Key Responsibilities
* Conduct professional installations of IP CCTV, Intruder, Access Control, and PIDS systems in substation environments, ensuring compliance with all relevant safety and technical standards.
* Work closely with specialist sub-contractors to ensure smooth project execution and quality outcomes.
* Attend client site meetings when needed, providing updates and addressing any technical or operational queries.
* Develop and maintain strong client relationships to ensure high levels of satisfaction and repeat business.
* Provide regular and detailed progress reports to your supervisor, identifying milestones and any project challenges.
* Complete all project-related documentation accurately and on time.
* Support the development of joint Fire & Security opportunities in collaboration with internal teams.
* Take on additional tasks or responsibilities as assigned by the Senior Management Team to support overall business objectives.
Qualifications and Skills
* Solid experience in installing and maintaining access control, IP CCTV, and Fire systems.
* Proficiency in systems such as:
o IDS - Galaxy, Pyronix, Texecom
o Access Control - NEDAP, Paxton, PAC
o IP CCTV - AXIS, PELCO, BOSCH, HANWHA
o VMS - Geutebrück, Milestone, Cortech, IndigoVision
o Intercoms - Zenitel, Commend, BPT
o PIDS - South West Microwave, Geoquip, Gallagher
* Capable of planning and installing additional equipment to meet company and industry standards.
* Strong documentation skills including service call sheets, site records, and timesheets.
* Effective communication and customer service skills.
* Strong problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to overcoming challenges.
* Customer-focused with a commitment to delivering end-to-end project ownership.
* Full, valid driving license.
* Strong team player with the ability to work collaboratively and independently.
* Eagerness to continuously improve and stay updated with industry developments.
Experience
* 3-5 years of experience installing and maintaining security systems (IP CCTV, Access Control, Fire Systems).
* Hands-on experience with Galaxy, NEDAP, Paxton, AXIS, PELCO, and other mentioned systems.
* Experience working across commercial and industrial environments.
* 1-2 years of client-facing experience including attending site meetings and managing installations.
* At least 2 years of experience completing and submitting technical documentation promptly.
