We are seeking a friendly and efficient Cafe Assistant to join our vibrant team. Duties
* Prepare and serve a variety of hot and cold beverages, including coffee and tea, adhering to standard recipes and presentation guidelines.
* Assist with food preparation tasks such as assembling sandwiches, salads, and other light snacks.
* Serve customers at the counter or via table service, ensuring prompt and courteous interaction.
* Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the café area, including clearing tables, cleaning equipment, and restocking supplies.
* Follow food safety procedures diligently to ensure compliance with health regulations.
* Handle cash transactions accurately using the POS system and provide correct change.
* Manage time effectively during busy periods to ensure smooth service flow.
* Support team members as needed to deliver an exceptional customer experience.
Requirements
* Previous barista experience or serving experience is preferred but not essential; training will be provided.
* Knowledge of food safety standards is desirable to uphold hygiene practices within the café.
* Basic maths skills are necessary for handling transactions accurately.
* Strong organisational skills and good time management are essential to prioritise tasks efficiently.
* Ability to work well under pressure during busy periods while maintaining a friendly demeanour.
* A positive attitude, reliability, and excellent communication skills are vital for team collaboration and customer interactions.
* Flexibility to work shifts as scheduled, including weekends if required.
