Responsibilities
* Work across Future Technology and Mechanical Engineering teams on high-temperature heat pump development and advanced thermal systems.
* Support experimental testing, analyse performance data, and refine system models to shape sustainable solutions in the energy and decarbonisation sector.
* Gain hands-on experience in system design, component specification, technical documentation, and stakeholder collaboration.
* Contribute to projects that support Spirax Group’s purpose of creating sustainable value and an equitable working culture.
Qualifications
* Engineering student (Bachelor’s or Master’s) with a requirement to complete a work placement.
* Curious mindset, strong analytical thinking, and drive to make a real impact.
* Willingness to learn and collaborate across diverse teams and projects.
Programme Details
This Year in Industry placement offers experience across Spirax Sarco’s Steam Specialties business. The programme is based in Cheltenham, UK, and runs for 12 months (July 2026 – July 2027). You will join a global organisation with 10,000+ colleagues across 67 countries.
Spirax Group is a FTSE 100 company specialising in steam solutions, electric thermal energy management, pumping, and fluid path technologies.
12-month placements are available across multiple areas, including 12 listed functions within the programme such as Engineering, Portfolio Management, Human Resources, Project Management Office, Commercial & Data, Environment, Health & Safety, Marketing & Business.
Requirements
* Applicants must be taking part in an agreed university placement scheme and have the right to work in the UK without sponsorship, full-time, for the duration of the 12-month placement (July 2026 – July 2027).
Key Dates
Application Closing Date: Sunday 19 October 2025. Assessment Centre on-site in Cheltenham: Tuesday 25 November or Tuesday 2 December 2025. (Assessment date depends on area of interest; please notify in advance if unavailable.)
