About the Role

Our dedicated Lecturer (Teaching) team are subject specialists focused on delivering student education, which is active, social, applied, and inclusive within our vibrant and varied education environment.
The School of Health and Care delivers an extensive range of undergraduate and postgraduate courses for professionals working in health and care settings inclusive of nursing, midwifery, occupational therapy, dietetics, paramedic science, operating department practitioners, diagnostic radiography, podiatry, clinical psychology and public health. As a Lecturer (Teaching) in Nursing, you will undertake teaching and course co‑ordination while supporting the development and delivery of undergraduate, postgraduate, and professional programmes and other core activities ensuring students have an effective learning experience.
Key Responsibilities
* Support the design and delivery of undergraduate and postgraduate nursing curricula both on campus and online.
* Lead and teach modules and courses at HE levels 4‑7 in relevant academic subject areas, including curation, adaptation and creation of learning materials, assessment and feedback tasks in alignment with Group and School quality‑assurance processes.
* Provide a coaching and mentorship approach to students studying on the programme.
* Uphold high standards of academic integrity in all aspects of teaching, learning and assessment.
* Travel to other campuses and partner sites to support teaching and related activities.
Requirements and Qualifications
* Adult Registered Nurse with significant clinical expertise in adult critical care nursing.
* Postgraduate qualification in adult critical care (or equivalent).
* NMC Registration in Nursing (Current and Active).
* NMC Registration in Adult Nursing (Current and Active).
* Teaching qualification or willingness to obtain one.
* Experience of teaching and learning at higher education levels 4‑7 in Nursing with high standards of teaching, learning and student engagement.
* Experience of supporting learning and providing high‑quality academic and pastoral support to professionals.
* Enthusiastic and self‑motivated, experienced in supporting, enhancing and engaging in an active‑learning pedagogy with evidence of proactively supporting student success.
* Experience and awareness of learners’ cultural differences and expectations, with the ability to effectively communicate with a wide range of people from diverse backgrounds.
