The Substance Misuse and Domestic Abuse Senior Worker (SMDA) role is an exciting new role within CGL Warwickshire. Therefore we are seeking an experienced and dedicated practitioner to lead the delivery of high-quality, trauma-informed support to women affected by domestic abuse. This pivotal role involves managing complex and high-risk cases, providing specialist guidance to frontline staff, and ensuring service users receive safe, effective, and empowering interventions that support recovery and long-term independence.
As a Senior Worker, you will also act as a practice lead within the team — supporting high standards of care, complex case discussion and continuous learning.
Travel across Warwickshire will be required to meet the needs of service users.
Full Time Hours: 37.5 per week
Full Time Salary Range: £32, £34,214.20*
Contract: 2 Year Ficted Term Contract
* Please note: Full-time hours at Change Grow Live are 37.5 hours per week. For part-time roles, the salary and payments will be pro rata based on contracted hours.

Responsibilities:
About the Role:
This is a specialist Senior Worker position with a dual focus on substance misuse and domestic abuse.
Working as an integral member of the multidisciplinary team, you will:
* Deliver structured psychosocial interventions for individuals experiencing drug and/or alcohol misuse
* Hold a complex caseload, including adults affected by domestic abuse
* Conduct comprehensive assessments, risk assessments, care planning and reviews
* Provide trauma-informed safety planning and advocacy
* Attend and contribute to Multi-Agency Risk Assessment Conferences (MARAC)
* Complete accredited IDVA training and embed those principles into your practice
* Act as a single point of contact within the service for domestic abuse-related queries
* Develop and deliver training to CGL colleagues and partner agencies
* Work collaboratively with GPs, Police, Probation, Social Services, housing providers and refuge services
* Support recovery community development and strengthen mutual aid pathways
* Contribute to audits, safeguarding processes and quality improvement initiatives
* Support Peer Mentors and Volunteers in line with Senior Worker responsibilities
Who We're Looking For
We are seeking a confident, resilient and professionally curious practitioner who can operate effectively in complexity.
You will bring:
* Significant experience working with adults affected by substance misuse and/or domestic abuse
* Strong safeguarding knowledge and risk management capability
* Experience managing complex and high-risk cases
* Knowledge of trauma-informed approaches and motivational interviewing
* Experience of multi-agency partnership working
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills
* Strong IT competency and ability to maintain accurate, timely records
* A commitment to completing IDVA training (essential)
* Ability to work independently while contributing to a high-performing team
