Key Role and Responsibilities:
Support our Import Services Manager with the smooth running of our Sea Operations, whilst delivering excellent service to assigned clients.
1. Proactively work with both the Customer Excellence and our Operations team to always ensure service excellence to clients.
2. Troubleshoot incoming queries raised within the team and respond with clear and timely responses.
3. Escalate any business-critical matters to the Import Manager & Head of Operations.
4. Put forward new ideas for efficiency and client service excellence to the Operations manager.
5. Complete the UK operations in its entirety for all clients.
6. Take on bookings for our controlled business from our Customer Excellence team, by converting their quotes to bookings / shipments and managing the shipment through to shipped on board / pre-alert stage.
7. Support the operational integration of new clients into our outsourcing team.
8. Ensure that all invoicing, profits, WIP’s and accruals are complete, in line with company policy & make sure that operations are loading costs to ensure completion of this.
9. Achieve monthly operational KPI’s as specified.
10. Assist with Import pricing for our overseas partners.
Operations
1. Provide all import services to all allocated clients and overseas agents with the highest level of service excellence.
2. Actively negotiate with hauliers and partners ensuring best rates for our clients.
3. Ensure all business is performed in the most cost-effective way.
4. Proactively resolve customer supply chain queries within agreed time
5. Develop positive partnerships with clients, agents and suppliers.
6. Assist with holiday cover across different modes of transport within the Import team.
Compliance
1. Deliver full compliance to the company credit policy throughout the team in conjunction with the Finance team.
2. At all times represent and act in the best interest of the company, the shareholders and the employees.
3. Complete other duties within the scope, spirit and purpose of the job, as requested
4. Work in accordance with the company values to maintain a positive environment with all teams across all departments.
Experience:
1. Have a comprehensive understanding of client and operational requirements to ensure service excellence standards are met and exceeded.
2. Support the delivery of efficient working practices.
3. Good understanding of Cargowise is a distinct advantage.
4. An understanding of Road & Air is a distinct advantage.

Location: Hybrid with 3 days at our Manchester Head Office (M22 5WB).
