We have a fantastic opportunity for a Senior Health & Safety Advisor to join our Highways team in Northern Ireland. The role involves providing support, advice, and information to ensure safe and environmentally friendly service delivery. As a Senior HSQE Advisor within our Consulting Highways division, you will drive continuous improvement of HSQE standards across various projects.
Responsibilities:
* Add value to operations by delivering proactive risk and solution-based approaches through engagement.
* Expand knowledge of health, safety, environment, and assurance to become a multi-skilled HSEQ team member.
* Produce clear reports, procedures, and guidance documents meeting group and BU standards.
* Uphold Amey’s core value of ‘safety first’ by promoting safety measures and working within our Zero Code framework.
* Manage risk-based audits and inspections to identify strengths and weaknesses.
* Use technical expertise to advise, observe, inspect, and audit.
* Support management to ensure project compliance with legislation, standards, and IMS.
* Analyze data to identify trends and propose solutions.
Qualifications:
* Nebosh Diploma or equivalent Level 6/7 qualification.
* Chartered membership or working towards Chartership of a professional safety institution (IOSH, IRSM).
* Investigation qualification or ability to obtain.
* Relevant Environmental and QA qualification (desirable).
* CPD record with a professional body.
* Full UK driving license.
* Right to work in the UK and Ireland.
Skills:
* Competence in at least one other area besides HS.
* Proficiency in SharePoint, Power BI, Power Apps, and MS Office.
* Understanding of IMS and continual improvement processes.
* Interpersonal skills for collaboration and stakeholder engagement.
Experience:
* Technical knowledge in professional services, construction, or highways sectors, with extensive experience in health & safety management systems.
* Understanding of Environment & Sustainability and Quality & Assurance systems.
* Knowledge of H&S legislation, especially CDM regulations.
