GSL Education are seeking a qualified SEMH Teacher to join a specialist SEMH school in Rotherham, catering to both primary and secondary pupils. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of young learners who require additional emotional and behavioural support. As an SEMH Teacher, you will: Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons tailored to meet the diverse needs of pupils with SEMH challenges. Use behavioural de-escalation techniques and positive behaviour strategies to manage classroom situations effectively. Build trusting relationships that promote emotional wellbeing, self-regulation, and motivation. Create a safe, structured, and nurturing learning environment that encourages positive engagement and academic progress. Work closely with support staff, parents, and external professionals to develop individual education and behaviour plans. Monitor and assess pupil progress, adapting your teaching to best support personal and academic development. Requirements for SEMH Teacher: UK Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification. Previous experience teaching or supporting pupils with SEMH or behavioural needs (in a specialist or mainstream setting). A calm, empathetic, and proactive approach to managing challenging behaviour. Strong communication, organisational, and interpersonal skills. A genuine commitment to helping every pupil reach their potential.
