Acute Medicine is an exciting and essential pillar of urgent care at UHBW. We have ambitious plans to grow the service at the BRI. Key milestones aim to include the expansion and development of our Acute Medical Unit, Same Day Emergency Care Unit and optimising clinical pathways.

Responsibilities
* Lead and shape the future of the Acute Medicine service.
* Collaborate as part of an enthusiastic, multi‑disciplinary team committed to delivering an exemplary service.
* Work within the Trust vision for Acute Medicine and the newly announced Joint Clinical Strategy with North Bristol Trust.
* Manage a 39‑bed Acute Medical Unit, Same Day Emergency Care unit and the Medical Take.
* Work closely with colleagues in Emergency Department, Care of the Elderly, Respiratory Medicine, Diabetes & Endocrinology, Gastroenterology & Hepatology, Bristol Heart Institute, St. Michael’s Maternity Hospital, Bristol Haematology & Oncology Centre.
* Encourage cross‑specialty collaboration and support cross‑specialty working.
* Support wellness initiatives for children, young people and vulnerable adults.
About the Service
Our Acute Medicine division is within the Division of Medicine and is partnered with other specialty services to provide sustainable and equitable acute care for patients across the region.
