Trinity College, founded in 1546 by Henry VIII, is one of the largest Colleges in the University of Cambridge, with some 720 undergraduates, 361 postgraduate students, 190 Fellows and around 350 non-academic staff. The beauty and size of Trinity’s courts attract visitors from all over the world, but the College is also a thriving, modern community, which exists to give its members a rewarding, richly resourced, and intellectually inspiring place in which to pursue their education and research.
We are seeking to appoint a Director of Communications (part-time), to provide strategic leadership for Trinity’s Communication function across the College to promote, enhance and protect its reputation as a thriving, stimulating and diverse community of students, Fellows and staff.
You will lead the Communications Office in the design, development and implementation of a communications strategy, build and cultivate effective working relations with the College’s senior leadership team, department heads and external stakeholders, including media, and have oversight of all communications activity across the College to ensure consistency across brand and messaging.The role will oversee the development of a digital communications strategy, communication campaigns and internal communications to enhance staff engagement.
The successful candidate will be an experienced public relations and internal communications practitioner, with a solid track record of devising and implementing multi-faceted communications strategies.You must possess the ability to influence at all levels internally and externally, using sound judgment, wisdom and diplomacy.Strong understanding of UK Higher Education environment and the political landscape is desirable.

Salary £56,000 per annum for 0.8 over 4 days (FTE £70,000), plus additional benefits.Some flexibility for fewer hours/days would be considered.
It is expected that the postholder will be College-based.
