Senior Golang Software Engineer
Rate: £330-£350 per day (Inside IR35)
Contract: 6-12 months
Location: Hybrid – 3 days per week onsite in London or Burgess Hill
We’re hiring a Senior Golang Software Engineer to join a global platform team working on Loyalty and Benefits solutions within a fast-paced enterprise environment. You’ll be part of a collaborative Scrum team building microservices and scalable features for a modern customer experience platform.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Develop and enhance scalable backend features using Golang (preferred) or another typed backend language
2. Build microservices using REST and asynchronous messaging (Kafka, RabbitMQ, etc.)
3. Collaborate within Agile/Scrum teams to design and deliver high-quality, testable code
4. Work on CI/CD pipelines with tools like Jenkins, Git, and automated testing frameworks
5. Engage with cross-functional teams to deliver innovative and resilient backend solutions
Essential Skills:
6. 6-9 years of backend engineering experience
7. Strong coding skills in Golang (preferred), Java, or another typed language
8. Hands-on experience with RESTful APIs, microservices architecture, and NoSQL/Postgres
9. Familiarity with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins and Git
10. Clear communicator with strong teamwork and problem-solving skills
Desirable Skills:
11. Experience with Kafka, GraphQL, gRPC, Docker
12. Test-driven development (TDD/BDD)
13. Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban, SAFe)
14. Exposure to cloud-native patterns and services
