HGV Class 2 Driver Experienced in Handling Glass Panels Location : Purfleet (via Driver Hire Romford) Pay Rate : £16.50 - £16.75 per hour (depending on experience and performance) Type : Temp to Perm About the Role Driver Hire Romford is currently recruiting an experienced HGV Class 2 Driver on behalf of a reputable distributor based in Purfleet. You will be joining a well-established, leading independent UK distributor, acting as the face of the business and delivering a professional, customer-focused service. Your main responsibilities will be carrying out deliveries of glass products, assisting in loading and unloading of vehicles, and ensuring all goods are delivered safely and in perfect condition. You will also complete all necessary compliance paperwork and leave every customer with a positive impression of both yourself and the company. The role involves safe transportation, delivery, and offloading of goods using the client’s vehicle-mounted cranes, while maintaining the highest standards of safety and compliance. Job Specification Safely transport glass products and materials to customer sites Carry out multi-drop deliveries, including deliveries into London Assist with loading, unloading, and securing goods safely Collect products from suppliers and prepare customer orders prior to dispatch Ensure all goods are delivered in first-class condition Complete all delivery paperwork accurately and on time Build strong working relationships with customers and internal teams Represent the company as an ambassador, leaving customers with a positive impression Plan routes effectively using local area knowledge Maintain high health & safety standards at all times Ensure vehicles and lifting equipment are used correctly and reported if defective.
