Job Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Healthcare Assistant to join our team on a bank contract in a busy mental health hospital. Duties
* Support the implementation of personalised care plans tailored to individual needs
* Monitor and record health conditions, reporting any concerns to senior staff promptly
* Provide companionship and emotional support to patients
* Assist recovery pathways such as by supporting leave and activities
* Maintain a clean and safe environment in accordance with health and safety standards
* Drive or accompany clients on outings or appointments when necessary (driving skills advantageous)
* Communicate effectively with team members, patients, and their families to ensure coordinated care
* Ensure the keeping of accurate care records.
* Deescalate difficult or challenging situations effectively with appropriate training.
Experience
* Previous experience in a hospital or care environment is advantageous but not essential; full training will be provided
* Basic IT skills for maintaining accurate records and updating care plans
* Proficiency in English, both written and spoken, for effective communication with colleagues and clients
* Driving experience is desirable to facilitate transportation duties but not mandatory
* Strong communication skills combined with a caring attitude are essential for building trust and rapport with residents or clients
