Hays are working with a leading employer in the Merseyside region to recruit an experienced, strategic Category Manager to join their dynamic Procurement team on a permanent basis.
Your new role
The Category Manager will be responsible for leading strategic procurement activity across the Facilities Management (FM) and Engineering spend areas. This will entail partnering with stakeholders across the organisation to understand current ways of working, and devising a category strategy which improves operational performance within this category area. The Category Manager will provide procurement guidance and advice to stakeholders to ensure that value for money and costs savings are being delivered in apliant manner. You will develop and maintain strong supplier relationships, and you will carefully identify and manage risks within the supply chain, as well as managing contractpliance and driving continuous improvement.
What you'll need to succeed
1. Proven procurement category background in Facilities Management and/or Engineering Services
2. Experience of devising and implementing category strategies within FM/Engineering spend
3. Strong stakeholder and supplier relationship management skills
4. Excellent negotiation and influencing skills
5. Proven ability to work collaboratively with senior stakeholders and using effective SRM strategies to drive improvements across the supply chain
6. Preferably, you will be CIPS qualified
