Our Building Services team are looking for a Mechanical Shift Team Leader to join the team at Royal Derby Hospital.
The purpose of the role will be to provide a 24 hour, 7 days a week rotating shift cover, covering all aspects of the Hospital Building Maintenance and reactive repairs. To be able to react to any emergency or breakdown within a predetermined time period.

You’ll:
1. Lead a small maintenance team comprising of maintenance technicians and maintenance assistants dealing with reactive and planned preventative maintenance of the Royal Derby Hospital buildings.
2. Act as first response covering all aspects of engineering and building services.
3. Line manage all maintenance technicians ensuring all policies, procedures and health and safety are followed at all times.
4. Ensure all shift patterns are covered with sufficient technicians for both planned and emergency works and participate in 24/7 rota to cover other shift team leaders’ sickness and annual leave where required.
5. Resolve problems where possible and make repairs to all equipment within specified timelines.
6. To plan, receive and close PPM jobs once completed.
7. Monitor Concept system to ensure all reactive jobs are resolved and completed within agreed time period.
8. Issue work to maintenance technicians and deputise for M&E shift supervisor when required.
9. Authorise out of hours sub-contractors to carry out emergency works.
We’re looking for:
10. Previous experience working within an NHS Hospital (desirable)
11. Qualified to a minimum of NVQ level 3 in Mechanical engineering.
12. Previous supervisor experience within a similar environment
13. Previous M&E or FM experience
14. Knowledge of current Health and Safety Legislation and regulations
15. Good computer skills
