As a Specialist Teaching Assistant within our SEND Provision, you will deliver bespoke, specialist education tailored to meet the evolving needs of SEN pupils, including those with complex requirements. You will develop and implement personalised learning to support each pupil’s unique needs and abilities. Use innovative teaching methods and resources to engage and inspire young learners. Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment that promotes confidence and growth

We are looking for candidates who:

● Support teaching and learning across the academy, working closely with class teachers to assist in the delivery of high-quality education for all pupils.

● Under the direction of the SENDCo and Literacy Lead, deliver high quality support within day-to-day lessons as well as targeted phonics-based literacy interventions to pupils identified as needing additional support in reading and early literacy skills.

● Promote and help secure higher standards of literacy across the academy, with a particular focus on phonics acquisition and reading fluency.

● Work with individual pupils and small groups both in and out of class to support learning, behaviour, and personal development.

● Plan and deliver structured phonics sessions using the school’s phonics programme, whilst adapting content to meet pupils' individual needs.

● Monitor and track the progress of pupils receiving literacy and phonics support by keeping accurate records of interventions and outcomes.

● Provide regular progress updates and feedback to the Literacy Lead, SENDCo, and class teachers to inform teaching strategies and support planning.

● Build and maintain positive working relationships with pupils, colleagues, and parents to ensure clear communication and a consistent approach to support.

● Assist with the preparation of learning materials, classroom organisation, and other general TA responsibilities, including supporting pupils during lessons, transitions, and other school activities.

Collaborate with teaching staff to adapt classroom materials and approaches for pupils with additional needs, particularly in relation to literacy development.
