JOB TITLE: Technical Product Owner - DevOps Services
SALARY: £104,992 - £123,520 outside of London, or £124,653 - £146,650 in London
LOCATION(S): Halifax, Manchester or London
HOURS: Full time
WORKING PATTERN: At least two days per week (or 40% of your time) at one of our offices listed above.

Our Engineering Platform is driving a transformation to modernise, accelerate, and standardise engineering practices across Lloyds Banking Group. As Technical Product Owner for the DevOps Services Lab, you will be the visionary and strategic leader driving the evolution of our DevOps product portfolio. You will shape and deliver innovative, scalable, and compliant DevOps solutions that empower engineering teams to accelerate software development and delivery, while meeting the demands of regulated environments.
Key Responsibilities
Vision & Strategy
1. Define and execute the strategic roadmap for the DevOps Services Lab, ensuring alignment with the Lab’s product portfolio and the broader engineering platform vision.
2. Champion the transformation of DevOps tooling into modular, “as-a-Service” offerings, fully integrated with our Internal Developer Platform.
3. Anticipate industry trends and regulatory changes, ensuring our solutions remain at the forefront of technology and compliance.
Product Ownership & Delivery
4. Own the end-to-end lifecycle of DevOps products and services, from ideation and requirements gathering to roadmap definition, delivery, and continuous improvement.
5. Lead the adoption of AI-powered automation, infrastructure as code, and self-service enablement to optimise software development and delivery.
6. Ensure all solutions are robust, scalable, secure, and aligned with regulatory requirements.
Stakeholder Engagement & Leadership
7. Build strong partnerships with engineering, product, and business partners to understand requirements, drive adoption, and evangelise standard processes.
8. Motivate, mentor, and guide multi-functional teams to provide impactful solutions that empower developers and improve product quality.
9. Communicate complex technical concepts and product progress to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Regulatory & Quality Focus
10. Leverage deep expertise in DevOps, software development, and delivery within regulated environments to ensure best-in-class solutions.
11. Define and track key performance indicators for DevOps effectiveness, quality, and compliance, using data insights to inform strategy and drive improvements.

What you’ll need
12. Extensive experience in DevOps, software development, and platform engineering, with a consistent track record in regulated environments.
13. Demonstrated capability in defining product visions, requirements, and roadmaps for technical solutions, prioritizing work to improve strategic impact.
14. Hands-on expertise in automation, CI/CD, IaC, compliance automation, and cloud platforms (Harness.io, Terraform, Github, Sonaytpe Platform, SonarQube, GCP, Azure)
15. Strong understanding of current trends and best practices in software engineering, including AI-powered software delivery and self-service enablement.
16. Displayed successful teamwork, cooperation, and leadership skills in various technical environments.
17. Excellent communication skills, able to engage both technical and non-technical audiences.
Any experience of these would be really useful
18. Experience in financial services or other regulated industries.
19. Contributions to open-source projects related to DevOps or Platform Engineering.
20. Experience with advanced automation protocols and compliance frameworks.
21. Data-driven decision-making and strategic planning skills.
