Role DescriptionWe are seeking a full-time Senior Human Factors Engineer to join our team in Bournemouth with flexibility for some remote work. In this hybrid role, you will be responsible for leading and conducting formative and summative usability studies, as well as providing expert consultation to clients across a range of therapeutic areas. You will work closely with cross-functional teams (including engineering, research, design and regulation) to identify design goals, develop user requirements and create task analysis. You will also apply your technical expertise to conduct risk assessments, identify potential use-related hazards, and implement mitigation plans, in accordance with relevant global standards and regulatory requirements.QualificationsBachelor's or Master's degree in Human Factors, Cognitive Psychology, Usability Engineering, Industrial Design or a related fieldA minimum of 4 years of experience in human factors engineering and usability testing in the Medical Device industryExperience with usability assessments, formative and summative usability studies, and heuristics evaluationsExperience with interaction design and task analysis, including working with engineering teams to establish design requirementsExperience in developing instructional materials, such as user manuals, IFUs and online help systemsStrong knowledge of human factors/usability standards, guidelines and regulations (such as ISO 62366, 62304, FDA and MDR)Excellent communication and report writing skillsStrong analytical and problem-solving skills, a meticulous attention to detailKnowledge of statistical analysis software packages (such as SAS, R, Matlab) is a plusExperience with Medical devices and combination products is a plus
