Pay Rate: £90 – £110+ per day (depending on experience)

GSL Education are seeking a caring and resilient SEND KS1 Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming school in Derby from September 2025. As a SEND KS1 TA, you will play a vital role in supporting children in Key Stage 1 with special educational needs, helping them engage with learning and flourish in a supportive and caring environment.
As a SEND KS1 Teaching Assistant, your responsibilities will include:
* Providing tailored support to pupils with a range of special educational needs.
* Assisting the class teacher in adapting resources and lesson activities.
* Offering one-to-one or small group interventions to reinforce learning.
* Supporting pupils’ emotional and social development.
* Helping to create an inclusive, safe, and engaging classroom environment.
* Liaising with teachers, SENCOs, and parents to support pupil progress.
To be successful in this role of SEND KS1 TA, you should:
* Have experience supporting children with SEND in a UK school setting.
* Hold a relevant qualification in Teaching Assistance or Special Needs support (desirable but not essential).
* Demonstrate patience, empathy, and adaptability.
* Possess strong communication and behaviour management skills.
* Hold an enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service or be willing to apply for one.
* A full, up-to-date CV with explanations for any gaps in employment over the last 10 years.
