Criminology Teacher Required for a Secondary School in Stockton-on-Tees

A welcoming and ambitious secondary school in Stockton-on-Tees is seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and knowledgeable Criminology Teacher to join its successful Humanities and Social Sciences department from October 2026.

This is an excellent opportunity for either an experienced teacher or an Early Career Teacher looking to develop their career within a supportive and forward-thinking school environment. The Role

The successful candidate will:

• Teach Sociology across Key Stages 4 and 5
• Deliver engaging and thought-provoking lessons that encourage critical thinking and discussion
• Monitor, assess, and support student progress to ensure strong outcomes
• Contribute to curriculum development and departmental initiatives
• Play an active role in the wider school community
• Maintain high expectations for behaviour, attendance, and achievement
• Inspire students to explore contemporary social issues and develop a deeper understanding of society

The Ideal Candidate

Applicants should possess:

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
• A degree in Sociology or a related subject
• Experience teaching Sociology at secondary level
• Strong subject knowledge and a passion for the social sciences
• Excellent classroom management and organisational skills
• A commitment to inclusive education and student success
• The ability to build positive relationships with students, colleagues, and families
