Overview
We are seeking to appoint a class teacher who will drive forward and inspire the learning and teaching in our thriving 60 place Reception Unit and who will take on the Leadership of phonics across school. St Matthew's C of E Primary School is a vibrant, successful and highly ambitious two-form entry school located in Chadderton, Oldham. Responsibilities
* As an exemplary teacher, you will:
o Be a teacher who is keen to progress on your school leadership journey with ambitions to senior leadership in the near future and you will be supported and developed, given opportunities to get you there with confidence and humility.
o Be an excellent, leading practitioner in our setting with a very good understanding of how children learn, not just in the early years, but throughout the school.
o See the Reception Year as one which is grounded in excellent EYFS practice as well as understanding the duty of preparedness for being Year 1 ready.
o Be prepared and enthused about developing the practice of early years colleagues and all teachers of Read Write Inc phonics groups and catch-up delivery.
o Understand the importance of using assessment for learning to raise standards and improve pupil achievement.
o Understand how to bring learning to life and be committed to developing and sustaining engagement in learning strategies
o Contribute to the hardworking, dedicated and caring ethos of the school and build positive relations with children, colleagues, parents and governors.
* A DBS Disclosure at enhanced level will be requested for the successful candidate, who will also need to demonstrate an excellent understanding of current child protection and safeguarding requirements.
