Overview
Applications are invited for a 12‑month fixed‑term clinical fellow post in Ophthalmology. This is a full‑time post providing specialty training for ophthalmologists at a relatively early stage of their career and is expected to start as soon as possible in Summer 2026.
The post is based at St Pauls Eye Unit at the Royal Liverpool University Hospital (RLUH), which is part of the Liverpool University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (LUHFT).
Responsibilities
* Provide clinical care in a range of ophthalmology sub‑specialties and the eye emergency department.
* Commit to out‑of‑hours duties approximating 1 in 7 shifts.
* Participate in a dedicated one‑session‑per‑week program of study, research and audit.
* Contribute to clinical research projects, audit initiatives and teaching activities.
Qualifications
* Completed at least two years of training in the specialty of ophthalmology.
* Eligible to begin the role by Summer 2026.
* Strong clinical competence and a commitment to ongoing professional development.
