People Assistant - 12-Month Fixed Term (Maternity Cover)

Please note this is a hybrid working role and you will need to be office based at the RUH in Bath at least 2 days per week as part of the people hub team

Are you highly organised, proactive, and passionate about supporting a positive employee experience? We're looking for a dynamic People Assistant to join our People and Culture Directorate on a one-year fixed-term contract covering maternity leave.

In this role, you'll be a key part of our People Hub team, providing essential administrative and coordination support to help us deliver high-quality, responsive HR services across the Trust.

From supporting day-to-day people processes to helping streamline our employee journey, you'll play an important part in ensuring our colleagues feel supported from the moment they join us.

Main duties of the job

As the first point of contact for HR enquiries, you will play a central role in supporting a smooth and efficient People service. You'll assist with coordinating recruitment processes, keeping our workforce records accurate and up to date, and ensuring all employment checks are completed in line with policy. You will also support the team by preparing reports, drafting professional correspondence, and organising meetings to help keep everything running seamlessly.

Person Specification


Qualifications

* Educated to minimum equivalent of GCSE level (C or above in Maths and English) or equivalent experience
* Certificate in Human Resources Practice


Knowledge and Experience

* Experience working in an office environment
* Knowledge and experience of implementing, developing and maintaining office procedures and systems
* Experience of notetaking at formal meetings
* Experience working in a confidential environment


Skills

* Competent user of Microsoft Highly developed skills in Office, Email and Internet Experience of keeping minutes at meetings.
* Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
* Effective interpersonal skills and the ability to liaise with staff and managers at all levels.
* Able to provide a high-quality customer service and meet the needs of customers
* Advanced keyboard skills and competent word processing, spreadsheet skills and e-mail, including the ability to mail merge and manipulate data.
