We are looking for an enthusiastic pharmacy technician to support the implementation and maintenance of trust EPMA systems across University Hospitals Sussex. They will require: a genuine interest in IT systems; proven experience using digital medicines systems on ward level and strong knowledge of medicines optimisation and governance.
The post-holder will contribute to all aspects of clinical governance, including clinical risk and audit and education and training. As a teaching hospital, education and training is an integral component of all roles encompassing practice supervision of undergraduates, pre-registration pharmacists and the line management and educational supervision of pharmacists. We encourage inter-professional learning and have been recognised for educational initiatives such as joint teaching activities with Foundation Doctors.
This fixed term/secondment role will work closely with a variety of healthcare professionals to ensure the digital prescribing of medicines are in line with local and national guidelines.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
·Support the development, implementation, piloting and on-going management of the EPMA systems across all sites, including participation in an on-call support service.
·Maintain the drug /product files, required system administration and tasks necessary for the on-going use of the EPMA systems.
·Deliver EPMA training to pharmacy staff and work with the training team to ensure all relevant clinical staff are trained appropriately. This includes maintaining EPMA training packages.
·Take an active role in auditing incidents and risks.
·To help develop, implement and monitor the impact of electronic prescribing on patient safety
·Support the configuration of the EPMA systems. Document and maintain accurate configuration records.
·Identify and resolve configuration errors and issues by liaising with technical IT colleagues.
·Act as a role model and provide a consistently high level of pharmaceutical service in line with departmental and Trust objectives.
