A leading precast and civil engineering manufacturer is seeking an experienced Civil Bid Manager to drive bid activity, manage key client relationships, and lead the sales/estimating function. This role suits a commercially focused engineering professional with strong tendering experience and the ability to win work in a competitive civil infrastructure market.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead the full bid and tender process for civil engineering projects.
* Prepare accurate cost estimates, quotes, proposals, and technical submissions.
* Build and maintain strong relationships with contractors, suppliers, and stakeholders.
* Drive sales growth, identify new business opportunities, and expand the customer base.
* Collaborate with internal teams to ensure accurate project delivery and customer satisfaction.
* Negotiate contracts and secure profitable work aligned to commercial targets.
* Report on sales performance, pipeline, and market trends.
* Lead, motivate, and develop the sales team.
About You
* Degree in Civil/Structural Engineering or equivalent experience.
* 3+ years’ experience in sales, estimating, or bid management within construction/civils.
* Strong commercial, negotiation, and client-facing skills.
* Ability to read engineering drawings and bar schedules.
* Proficient in Microsoft Office; AutoCAD experience advantageous.
* Excellent organisational and leadership capability.
