Chinese Community Manager
Global Remote | Permanent Role (with probation period)
Overview
Our client is a well-established European strategy games studio that has seen exceptional success in the Chinese market, most notably with a recent strategy title that performed beyond expectations. Following this momentum, they are now looking to expand and deepen their presence across China by investing in dedicated community leadership.
This role will focus on building, engaging, and nurturing Chinese-speaking communities around the studio’s strategy game portfolio, working closely with players to strengthen long-term engagement and brand loyalty.
In this role you will
* Act as the primary point of contact for Chinese-speaking communities across multiple platforms
* Manage and grow community spaces including Discord, social media channels, and other relevant regional platforms
* Design and run engaging community initiatives such as contests, events, and discussion threads
* Use your strategy game knowledge to spark meaningful conversations and encourage player participation
* Gather community feedback and relay insights to internal teams
* Represent the voice of the community while maintaining a positive, inclusive environment
What we’re looking for
* Native or fluent Chinese speaker (written and spoken)
* A genuine passion for strategy games and deep understanding of the genre
* Strong knowledge of how strategy game mechanics and player motivations translate into community engagement
* Experience managing online communities, ideally within games
* Creative mindset for driving engagement through events, competitions, and social content
* Confident communicator who enjoys interacting directly with players
* Proven experience in community management, social media, or player engagement
* Familiarity with Discord and social platforms commonly used by Chinese gaming communities
* Experience running community events or campaigns
* Background working with or supporting live game communities is a strong advantage
