STRICTLY NO AGENCIES PLEASE About the Role: The HGV Driver Assessor is responsible for evaluating the competence, safety, and compliance of Heavy Goods Vehicle (HGV) drivers. This role ensures that all drivers meet legal, company, and industry standards through structured assessments, coaching, and ongoing development support. Conduct practical driving assessments for new and existing HGV drivers. Evaluate driver performance against company policies, road safety regulations, and industry best practices. Deliver inductions, refresher training, and remedial coaching where required. Monitor driver compliance with tachograph rules, Working Time Directive, and vehicle safety checks. Provide clear, constructive feedback and maintain detailed assessment records. Identify training needs and support the development of individual driver improvement plans. Ensure all assessments are completed in line with legal and company audit requirements. Stay up to date with changes in transport legislation and ensure drivers are informed. Promote a strong safety culture across the transport operation. Assist in incident investigations involving driver performance when necessary. Be aware of all Lanes Group policies and your responsibilities towards them. Any other reasonable ad-hoc tasks, duties or projects as requested by management.
