It\'s often overwhelming for people to make changes in their lives. You can help by giving your time as a volunteer peer mentor.
There are lots of different ways you could help support other young people and our services. This can include:
Responsibilities
* Being a voice for other service users, getting their feedback and sharing ideas on how to improve the service and letting us know what is and isn\'t working.
* You can help shape how we deliver our services contributing to what we post on social media, who we recruit and the types of support we offer.
* You will be a positive role model promoting our service to other service users and those in the local community.
* Attending events and supporting the delivery of training.
* You could also have the opportunity to be matched with a service user working alongside them on a one to one basis. This can include supporting them to attend a group or appointment or just checking in with them to see how they are getting on once they have left the service.
* You will be a positive influence to the mentee motivating, encouraging, and inspiring them to reach their potential.
* You will be provided with all the skills, training and regular 1.2.1 support needed to help you carry out the role.
* This is the perfect role for someone who wants to be a positive role model, has a passion for supporting others and wants to make a difference.
Requirements / Qualifications
* Do you have lived experience of drug and alcohol recovery?
* Are you ready to give something back?
* Do you wanting to develop your skills and take on a bit of challenge?
* We are looking for people with previous lived experience to become part of our Building Recovery in Communities (BRIC) - Peer Mentor team.
* Please note that we require you to be 18 years of age or older to be considered for this volunteering role.
