Key Responsibilities
What does a Systems Engineer do at Amazon? Engineers dive deep into understanding the root cause of customer issues, investigating why a metric is trending the wrong way, and consulting with senior engineers. They own services and work to minimise out‑of‑hours support, implementing Operational Excellence best practices and automating manual processes.
Our Systems Engineering roles help engineers develop a broad range of skills. They utilise Linux skills to troubleshoot, innovate fixes and work‑arounds, keep software up-to-date, and provide data and metrics that help manage the capacity and efficiency of our services. They apply networking knowledge to identify and troubleshoot network connectivity issues, communicate clearly and collaborate with others to deliver results, and work as customer‑obsessed self‑startholders comfortable with ambiguity and change.
