The business is now looking to appoint an experienced Sales Manager to build on the business legacy and author and lead the future commercial strategy. Reporting to the Board and working closely with the Finance Director and Technical Director you will have a deep understanding of the food sector, ideally with some experience in bakery and be adept at technical understanding and sales.


Responsibilities


* Author and execute the company sales strategy and associated KPIs aligned with the company’s ambitions and strategic objectives.
* Actively lead dialogue and build relationships with decision makers and influencers within customers.
* Strengthen customer relationships to convert enquiries, enhance retention and maximise long-term value.
* Regularly report to board on performance, KPIs, future focus and pipeline.
* Establish good working relationships with existing agents and partners and identify new prospective partners for the future.
* Act as a company ambassador, internally and externally, consistently living and breathing the culture and values.
* Develop dialogue and successful working relationships across the company, territories, and 3rd party partners.
* Build and share insights where relevant into industry trends, market developments and competitor activity.


Requirements


* Proven experience and success in machinery and processing solution sales in the food sector, ideally with bakery knowledge.
* A deep technical knowledge of the bakery sector and an ability to communicate technical concepts with customers, ideally with a technical engineering or design engineering background.
* Ability to engage and positively influence decision makers at customer organisations and partners.
* Astute at identifying the current and future needs of customers.
* A strong and committed performer whether working independently or as part of a team.
* Excellent communications and negotiations skills with an aptitude and skill to build rapport and credibility with diverse stakeholders.
* Ability to travel to meet with customers in the UK and overseas (as required) and attend industry events.
