Description
We are seeking a proactive, hands-on Learning & Development Business Partner to join our team on a 12-month fixed-term contract, stepping into an established role to provide cover during a secondment.
In this role, you will be picking up the L&D Strategy—creating high-quality learning content, leading strategic development projects, and partnering closely with stakeholders to identify capability needs and drive performance.
You will play a key role in instructional design and content creation and you will develop engaging digital and blended learning experiences that support both technical and behavioural development. You will also play a key role in shaping our talent pipeline, leading on our apprenticeship programmes, ensuring compliance, quality, and meaningful career pathways.
In addition, you will design and facilitate leadership development programmes, working with managers to build capability, strengthen culture, and support organisational growth. This is a highly collaborative role suited to someone who combines strategic thinking with a hands-on approach and a passion for modern, user-centred learning.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead and manage L&D projects from scoping through to delivery, ensuring outcomes align with organisational goals and stakeholder needs.
* Oversee and enhance apprenticeship programmes, ensuring compliance, high-quality training experiences, and clear development pathways.
* Design, coordinate and facilitate leadership development programmes, including emerging leader pathways and manager capability training.
* Partner with key stakeholders to identify skills gaps, capability needs and learning priorities, offering expert advice and practical solutions.
* Coach managers to build capability, improve people leadership skills, and embed best-practice performance and development conversations.
* Maintain and administer the Learning Management System (LMS), including uploading content, managing user data, generating reports, and improving system usability.
* Evaluate the impact of learning initiatives through analytics, feedback, and performance metrics, using insights to continuously improve content and programmes.
* Manage supplier and training provider relationships, ensuring high standards of delivery and value for money.
* Promote a strong learning culture, championing self-directed learning and encouraging adoption of digital learning solutions.
Skills, Knowledge & Expertise
* Proven experience in a Learning & Development Business Partner, L&D Specialist, or similar advisory role.
* Demonstrable experience in instructional design and content creation, including developing digital and blended learning solutions.
* Strong background in managing end-to-end L&D projects, from needs analysis through to evaluation and continuous improvement.
* Experience designing and delivering leadership development programmes and supporting manager capability.
* Hands-on experience coaching managers to enhance leadership behaviours and performance.
* Solid understanding and operational experience of apprenticeship programmes, including compliance, provider management, and learner support.
* Experience in LMS administration, including content upload, reporting, user management, and driving system engagement.
* Proven ability to partner with stakeholders at all levels, building strong relationships and influencing decisions.
* Experience using learning analytics to assess impact and inform improvements.
* Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities.
* Experience working with Psychometrics would be beneficial but we are happy to provide training for the right candidate.
