We are currently working with a market leading ALSP that is keen to speak with senior financial services commercial lawyers with retail banking products experience, who would be available for a 3-6 month secondment assignment to a challenger bank. Candidates must have both commercial contracts and retail banking products experience. The role is due to start ASAP and will require a presence in the London office for 2-3 days per week.
Successful candidates should be able to demonstrate:
1. Qualification as a Solicitor with upwards of 5 years’ PQE
2. Experience in commercial contracts and retail banking products and services, in particular payment services and current accounts
3. Previous leadership/supervision experience (as there is the responsibility for supervising 4 members of the team on a daily basis). Whilst there is a supervision element to the role, the successful lawyer will be expected to get stuck into technical drafting work as well
4. Excellent experience of drafting and negotiating a wide variety of commercial contracts within a regulated financial services sector environment, such as technology/IT contracts and supplier contracts
5. The ability to start a new role immediately or at short notice
6. The desire to commit to a 3-6 month contract
The following experience would also be desirable, but is not a prerequisite:
7. Experience of advising on IP and/or data privacy issues for FS/retail banking institutions
8. Experience in legal risk management such as identifying risks, putting legal controls in place, governance and reporting obligations
