The Opportunity Build Maintain Recruit is working in partnership with a leading M&E contractor to appoint a skilled Buyer with experience in Mechanical and Electrical procurement. This role is based on a high-profile, multi-million-pound construction project in Bridgwater, Somerset. We are seeking a proactive, detail-oriented procurement professional to join the project team and support key sourcing and supply chain operations through to 2027—with the possibility of a permanent role based on future work. Hybrid working is available, with a minimum expectation of three days per week on site. We also welcome applicants who may require accommodation while working away from home. Key Responsibilities * Support the Procurement Manager and Senior Buyers in meeting overall project procurement goals. * Act as procurement lead for designated contracts and tender opportunities. * Assist in the development and execution of procurement strategies specific to MEP systems and project timelines. * Maintain accurate and up-to-date procurement schedules and communicate these effectively to project stakeholders. * Monitor supplier performance and ensure feedback is gathered and recorded to improve supply chain decision-making. * Apply a solid understanding of M&E materials, systems, and commercial drivers to inform purchasing decisions. * Contribute to estimating processes and collaborate closely with project estimators to ensure aligned procurement outcomes. * Leverage a variety of procurement tools, techniques, and systems to deliver value and meet key project milestones. About You * Proven experience in a procurement or buying role within an M&E, building services, or construction environment. * Strong understanding of MEP systems and construction project requirements. * Excellent IT and communication skills, with the ability to manage documentation and schedules effectively. * Strong commercial awareness and the ability to negotiate, influence, and build supplier relationships.
