The Opportunity
An experienced and professional Housekeeper is required for a warm and welcoming private family home set in the beautiful countryside near Wotton Under Edge. This is a maternity cover position for up to 12 months, offering an excellent opportunity for a dedicated candidate who takes pride in maintaining high household standards.
The family is seeking someone organised, discreet, and proactive, who can work independently while contributing positively to the smooth running of the home.
Key Responsibilities
* Full housekeeping duties, including cleaning, tidying, and maintaining a high standard throughout the home
* Laundry, ironing, and wardrobe management
* Occasional light meal preparation (breakfast and reheating meals when required)
* Supporting the day-to-day organisation of the household
* Assisting with children when needed in a calm and nurturing manner
Candidate Profile
* Proven experience working in a private household or similar environment
* Experience working with children is highly desirable
* Trustworthy, discreet, and reliable
* Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage time effectively
* Flexible and positive attitude
* Confident with basic food preparation
Requirements
* Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle
* Background in childcare desirable (e.g. nursery nurse, teaching assistant)
* First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
* DBS check (or willingness to undergo)
Package & Benefits
* Competitive salary: £32,000 – £35,000 per annum
