Head of Alternatives Investment Research
Location: London (with international travel)
IGA Talent are working with a well established private markets advisory business looking to appoint a Head of Alternatives Investment Research.
This is a senior, externally facing role at the centre of the firm’s market positioning, responsible for shaping its voice across private markets while supporting client development and fundraising activity.
The remit is deliberately broad, combining thought leadership, market intelligence and commercial insight.
The role
* Lead market commentary across private equity, private credit and real assets, including a regular stream of written content
* Develop differentiated, opinion led thought leadership aimed at institutional investors, fund managers and market participants
* Produce in depth research outputs, including periodic sector reports and thematic papers
* Work with senior stakeholders to identify relevant market themes aligned to fundraising priorities
* Support business development through sector intelligence, target identification and strategic insight
* Undertake commercial and strategic due diligence on prospective fund clients, including assessment of strategy, track record and positioning
* Represent the business externally at conferences and industry events, acting as a visible voice in the market
The profile
* Significant experience within alternatives investment research
* Strong coverage across private markets, with the ability to move across strategies and geographies
* First rate writing capability, able to produce clear, credible and commercially relevant content at pace
* Comfortable forming and articulating views, rather than simply reporting on the market
* Commercially aware, with a clear understanding of how research supports fundraising and client development
* Experience of manager assessment and due diligence is beneficial
* Confident operating in external facing environments, including conferences and client settings
