Role Overview:
In this role, you'll lead 6 direct reports, develop tailored solutions by adapting general guidelines, and establish best practices and internal procedures to ensure smooth team and business operations. This team focuses on resolving technical, complex issues using hardware and software tools in automation systems used in industrial processes.
Hybrid work: Min.3 days from office
Responsibilities:
* Daily Operations: Supervise and coordinate Tier 2 Support team activities, resources, and priorities.
* Problem Solving: Use policies and procedures to resolve technical issues and improve efficiency.
* Autonomous Decision-Making: Manage day-to-day challenges and support requests independently.
* Communication & Leadership: Clearly convey expectations, provide guidance, and address team issues.
* Customer Support: Deliver second-level technical support to customers, ensuring SLA compliance.
* Escalation & Collaboration: Monitor and prioritize support requests, escalate using Jira, and participate in review meetings.
* Team Development: Identify training needs and provide development opportunities.
* Complaint Management: Proactively handle customer complaints and feedback.
Your Background:
* HNC/HND or higher in Electrical, Electronic, or Software Engineering (or related)
* Previous experience in controls engineering with relevant technical exposure to:
* PLCs, SCADA systems, automation controls
* Engineering tools/languages like Structured Text (ST), Function Block, scripting tools, and CodeSys
* Previous experience managing or leading a team
* Demonstrated ability to apply technical expertise and problem-solving skills in a fast-paced support environment
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the capability to effectively mentor and guide team members
