We’re hiring for a Client Account Director as part of Carat in Manchester on a 12 month Maternity Cover.
Purpose of the Role
The role of Client Account Director (FTC) at Carat will focus on the Holland & Barrett account and is responsible for the all the activity they put into market across retail and performance. Ensuring that we continue to deliver best in class activation at pace for them.
This position is a key liaison between Carat and Holland & Barrett, overseeing the development and execution of tailored media strategies to meet the client's business objectives, as well as developing and advancing best practice in how we deliver great work across all campaigns. The Client Account Director plays a pivotal role in fostering strong client relationships, guiding a team of talented professionals, and ensuring the successful implementation of media campaigns. By leveraging market insights, industry expertise, and innovative thinking, the Account Director shapes the direction of media plans, optimises campaign performance, and ultimately contributes to the growth and success of both the client's business and the agency.
The Client Account Director reports to the Client Director, collaborating closely to align strategies, drive innovation, and ensure the delivery of outstanding service to Holland & Barrett.
Key Responsibilities
* Client Relationship Management: Lead the Holland & Barrett account as the primary contact, building strong stakeholder relationships aligned to business goals.
* Strategic Media Leadership: Own and deliver integrated media strategies informed by insight, research, and market trends.
* Planning & Collaboration: Work closely with internal teams and media partners to deliver high-quality, innovative plans.
* Campaign Delivery & Optimisation: Manage end-to-end digital-led campaigns across paid social, search, display, and partnerships to hit KPIs.
* Performance & Reporting: Track performance, extract insights, and present clear recommendations to clients.
* Team Leadership & Development: Manage and develop account teams, driving performance, collaboration, and growth.
* Best Practice & Process Improvement: Champion agency standards and continuously improve ways of working with the Client Director.
* Financial & Commercial Management: Oversee budgets, forecasts, and billing to ensure accuracy and profitability.
Qualifications + Skills
* Industry Experience: Proven experience in media planning, account management, or related roles within a media agency or marketing environment.
* Digital Media Expertise: Strong understanding of the digital media landscape, with hands-on experience using digital platforms, tools, and channels.
* Client & Commercial Impact: Proven track record of managing client relationships, driving account growth, and delivering successful media campaigns.
* Communication & Influence: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present ideas persuasively and build strong relationships with clients and internal teams.
* Leadership & Talent Development: Demonstrated experience leading, coaching, and developing teams to achieve high performance.
* Analytical & Planning Rigor: Highly analytical and data-driven, with the ability to interpret insights, justify planning decisions using research, and apply core planning principles.
