AV Commercial Estimator
Location: Ashford, Kent (Hybrid)
Salary: Salary bracket is open depending on experience
The Role
This is a senior position reporting directly to the senior leadership team. Working closely with the leadership team, you'll be responsible for producing accurate quotations, tender documentation, and pricing for a range of complex audio visual projects.
This role will suit someone with a solid understanding of AV or construction estimating, strong commercial acumen, and the confidence to build supplier relationships and negotiate pricing.
Key Responsibilities
* Produce accurate, commercially strong cost estimates and proposal documents across residential, hospitality and commercial sectors.
* Prepare quotations and pricing opportunities accurately using WeQuote.
* Review and interpret technical drawings, specifications and tender packs.
* Manage procurement and build relationships with key suppliers – negotiating prices to increase project margins
* Source and compare supplier quotes, confirming lead times and product availability.
* Produce BOMs and bid/tender documentation.
* Verify lead times and product availability.
* Factor in risk allowances, overheads, and preliminaries when estimating.
* Actively tracking tender pipeline activity.
* Attend occasional site visits.
* Support leadership team in meetings, interviews, and commercial negotiations.
Requirements
* Minimum 3 years' estimating experience within audio visual, M&E or an electrical contracting environment. Residential AV experience would be highly beneficial.
* Strong financial awareness with the ability to price projects competitively whilst protecting margins.
* Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications and tender documentation.
* Knowledge of Wave, Quote, DTools, or similar estimating software.
* Full UK Driving License.
