Job Description:
We are recruiting for a Teaching Support Technician within the Medical School Office to support staff in the lecture theatres and learning spaces at the University's Ninewells campus. This is a busy office providing administrative support for a range of learning, teaching and assessment activities required to deliver the portfolio of undergraduate and postgraduate degrees, including the professional MBChB degrees.
You will provide technical support to University and NHS staff to utilise the AV/IT facilities, providing excellent customer service to ensure the smooth running of teaching and training sessions, meetings and conference events. You will support the routine recording of MBChB lectures and the provision of learning materials and digital resources.
Based in Ninewells Hospital, one of Europe's largest teaching hospitals, the School of Medicine provides outstanding medical education and training supported by world class research facilities.
Your priorities will include:
* Providing in-person technical support to University staff, NHS clinical educators and visiting speakers to ensure the smooth running of in-person, online, and hybrid events.
* Provide an excellent customer service in assisting colleagues to present learning materials and resources from within University and NHS digital environments and personal devices.
* Provide staff induction and training to build confidence with using the AV/IT facilities and relevant digital environments in advance of events.
* Liaising with the University's Digital and Technology Services to monitor the AV/IT facilities in the learning and teaching spaces to ensure they are operational and available for use.
* Supporting the provision of learning materials and the recording of undergraduate lectures, ensuring these are made available to students in the online learning environment.
Who we're looking for:
* Experience of supporting staff in a Tertiary educational environment.
* Qualified to HNC level in a relevant subject or have equivalent work experience.
* Excellent customer service attributes, eg. welcoming teaching staff and responding to their requirements.
* Knowledge of common desktop conferencing and lecture recording applications.
* Experience of supporting AV/IT equipment and user devices.
