Overview
An exciting fixed-term opportunity has arisen to join a friendly, forward‑thinking team in a 9‑month maternity cover role on Ward 23 and the Cardiac Intervention Unit (CIU). Ward 23 is a Cardiology inpatient ward with 19 beds, caring for patients following acute cardiac events and those undergoing continued investigation and treatment. The unit includes four side rooms offering private cardiac care. There is also the opportunity to rotate into the Cardiac Intervention Unit (CIU), a day‑case elective unit managing up to 16 patients pre‑ and post‑procedures, including angiograms, pacemaker insertions, and cardiac ablations. This role offers a varied, supportive environment with strong links to the wider cardiology services, including specialist nurses and the research team.
No two days are the same, and you will benefit from working across inpatient and elective cardiac care pathways with a focus on patient‑centred care and skill development within cardiology.
