We are at the centre of the rapidly growing cell and gene therapy sector, delivering life-changing therapies to patients. We are currently offering an opportunity for a motivated individual with an interest in science to join us as a Sample Management Coordinator 2 within our Quality Control (QC) team. The role involves receiving, storing, issuing, packing, shipping, organising, and disposing of samples in a controlled manner.
Our QC team supports product development through analytical testing to facilitate manufacturing, shelf life setting, and process development, ensuring quality controls and analytics are maintained.
Your responsibilities will include:
* Receiving samples from manufacturing sites, checking conditions, logging, and storing appropriately
* Organising and preparing outgoing shipments to external testing organisations or clients
* Issuing samples to scientists
* Navigating LIMS processes for sample management activities
* Noting and resolving discrepancies promptly
* Maintaining good record-keeping and documentation
* Authoring and reviewing SOPs and other documents
* Owning and troubleshooting processes to improve efficiency
* Liaising and leading meetings with other teams or departments
* Updating SM scheduling and metrics tools in a timely manner
* Working independently and within cross-functional teams
We are looking for candidates who have:
* At least GCSEs or equivalent qualifications, or demonstrable skills gained elsewhere
* Proven experience with sample handling
* Experience with LIMS (preferred but not essential)
* A genuine interest and drive to work in science
* Problem-solving skills to address issues effectively
* Strong interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal)
* Highly organised, motivated, with excellent attention to detail
* Knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
* Critical and analytical thinking skills
* An understanding of working in a highly regulated environment, ideally GxP
