Meridian Business Support is seeking an enthusiastic and driven Registered Manager to join our clients, Ofsted-registered children’s home based in the scenic town of Kendal, Cumbria.
The Home provides both home and education for students aged 11–19 with Asperger’s Syndrome (High Functioning Autism) and Complex Needs. With exceptional facilities and a nurturing environment, we empower young people to develop independence, gain qualifications, and achieve their full potential.
About the Role: As Registered Manager, you will play a pivotal role within the senior leadership team, overseeing the care and development of young people and leading a dedicated team of assistant managers and support staff. You will provide strategic and operational leadership, ensuring a high standard of care in line with Ofsted requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead and manage a residential children’s home, ensuring a safe, happy, and nurturing environment.
Inspire and support staff through effective leadership, mentoring, and performance management.
Champion safeguarding practices and ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
Collaborate with the multi-disciplinary team (education, therapy, clinical) to deliver holistic care.
Build and maintain strong partnerships with external agencies, professionals, and families.
Support young people in developing life skills, independence, and positive outcomes.What We’re Looking For:
Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a similar role within a children’s residential setting.
Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management – Children’s Residential Care (or equivalent).
Strong knowledge of safeguarding and regulatory frameworks (Children’s Homes Regulations, Ofsted).
Experience supporting children with Autism and complex behavioural needs.
Excellent leadership, communication, and organisational skills.
