We are delighted to share an exciting opportunity for the role of Director of Operations at AGH Solutions Ltd (AGHS). AGHS is a wholly owned subsidiary of Airedale NHS Foundation Trust and began trading in March 2018. AGHS provides a wide range of services, including estates maintenance, capital projects, facilities management, sterile services, wheelchair engineering, and procurement services to the Trust and other NHS customers, supporting health and care provision in our communities.
The successful candidate will join us at an exciting time, with the opportunity to shape the development of AGHS as Airedale NHS Foundation Trust embarks on building a new health and care facility through the National New Hospital Programme.

Main duties of the job
The Director of Operations at AGHS plays a pivotal role in managing the customer/supplier relationship between AGHS and the Trust, as well as fulfilling shareholder and subsidiary responsibilities. The successful candidate will help develop a strong profile and reputation for AGHS across estates, facilities, and procurement sectors, while upholding NHS values. They will lead cultural change, foster innovation, and drive continuous improvement to achieve best practices in service delivery.

Person Specification
Qualifications
* Educated to Masters level or equivalent relevant experience (ideally 5+ years)
* Specialist knowledge in Facilities and/or Estates Management from extensive experience in the private or public sector
* Evidence of ongoing professional development
Experience
* Senior management experience in large, complex organizations with over 200 staff
* Experience in multi-agency planning and service delivery
* Proven project and change management skills
* Significant budget management experience
* Experience meeting challenging targets
* Previous senior on-call responsibilities
* Expertise in soft FM environments
* Experience as an internal advisor on soft facilities management
* Board-level experience in private or public sectors
* Experience managing major incidents in large organizations is advantageous
Knowledge
* Understanding of NHS structure, targets, and current developments (advantageous)
* Knowledge of Business Continuity
* Experience managing multidisciplinary teams in 24/7 operations
* Knowledge of best practices in Facilities Management
* Proficiency in IT packages, including Word, Excel, and Project Management software
* Understanding of Health & Safety issues related to soft FM
* Track record of organizational change, cultural embedding, and employee engagement leading to improved outcomes
