Dairy Farm Manager - Cambridge - £63,606 - 4-bed, detached house
The Company:
- Approximately 200 pedigree Holstein dairy cows producing over 11,500 litres annually
- Four robotic milking systems
- Year-round calving system
- Youngstock enterprise with around 150 followers
- 250 breeding sheep
- LEAF demonstration farm status
- Strong links with veterinary education and research
The Job:
- Managing all dairy and sheep operations to achieve high technical and welfare standards
- Leading, motivating, and developing farm staff
- Overseeing robotic milking, youngstock rearing, feeding, forage operations, and herd health planning
- Working closely with consultants and veterinary teams
- Ensuring compliance with health & safety, environmental, and assurance standards
- Managing records, livestock movements, and farm management software systems
- Supporting teaching and practical training activities- Budget monitoring, purchasing, and contractor coordination
- Building positive relationships with industry partners, regulators, and the local community
The Candidate:
- Proven experience managing a commercial dairy enterprise
- Strong knowledge of dairy cow nutrition, fertility, health, and welfare
- Experience with modern dairy technologies and record systems
- Excellent people management and communication skills
- A practical and organised approach to farm operations
- Understanding of environmental compliance and health & safety requirements
- Enthusiasm for innovation, education, and continuous improvement
- Experience with robotic milking systems and forage management would be advantageous.The Package:
