Our client, a key player in the nuclear sector, is actively seeking an experienced Electrical Project Engineer to join their team on a contract basis. This exciting opportunity will have you fully site-based and focusing on construction-side activities, ensuring the smooth and compliant execution of electrical installation works.
Key Responsibilities:
Overseeing electrical installation works
Managing subcontractors and technicians
Reviewing and approving electrical documentation
Supporting commissioning teams
Ensuring compliance with nuclear site standards
Managing electrical work packs
Coordinating with mechanical, civils, QA, and PMO teams
Ensuring safety, quality, and schedule adherence
Job Requirements:
Experience in the electrical discipline (not mechanical)
Experience working as a project engineer on the construction side (not design office)
100% site-based role
Capable of working under CIS or Umbrella
Security Clearance (SC) minimum, must be DV-capable
NVQ Level 4 and a Gold Card are ideal qualifications
Experience supporting construction packages
Proficiency in documentation (RAMS, ITPs, redlines, as-builts, LQRs, permits)
Suitable Backgrounds:
Electrical Technicians who have progressed to NVQ Level 4 / HNC / HND
Electrical Commissioning Technicians moving into project engineering work
Electrical Construction Engineers from nuclear, defence, or heavy industry
Individuals with strong documentation and package management experience
