OSIL Electronics Engineer

Position
The Service Division of OSIL specialises looking after the instrumentation behind our real-time data acquisition and monitoring systems which are deployed globally in support of offshore and coastal engineering projects.
To continue to support our growth and further develop the market for our products, we are looking for an energetic passionate, Electronics Technician/ Calibration Metrologist to support our existing high profile client relationships. You will be working with the whole OSIL team to enable further development of our maritime and subsea business globally.
This varied post will comprise a combination of servicing, data verification, calibration and development/ assembly work with the opportunity for overseas fieldwork & training. This is a challenging highly diverse role that requires a wide range of skills from electronics, integration & network knowledge. Based in the UK facility the role will encompass varied responsibilities, the key aspects of which are:
* Checking instruments for data integrity and operation
* Installation and rigging of calibration items/ instruments in the lab
* Processing of calibration results, generation of certificates
* Day to day problem solving and investigations on client equipment
* Technical correspondence with clients
* Ensuring customer turnaround times are met.
* Upkeep of calibration equipment
* Continual development of best working practices and methodologies
Position Requirements
The candidate we have in mind is inquisitive, able to think ‘outside the box’, detail driven with an accurate work practice and a can do hands-on mentality. The following qualifications and or experience are also required:
* Electronics, Networking or Communications background (ideally at degree level or above)
* PCB Design desirable
* Experience in software/firmware development desirable
* Strong computing and IT knowledge
* Excellent communication skills, both verbally and in written service reports
* Team player
Candidates must be UK based and be able to pass stringent security checks.
