Working Hours
Tuesday to Saturday, regular days with an early finish on Saturdays.
Responsibilities of the Resident Engineer
Reporting to the Service Team Leader you will be in control of the maintenance, service, and repairs of material handling equipment on the customer’s site. You will be working with an assortment of equipment including electric trucks, small pallet trucks, IC trucks, VNA trucks, and automated trucks. You will find, diagnose, and rectify faults and undertake preventative maintenance on forklifts and other material handling equipment. You will manage your own work in progress, ensure all relevant paperwork is completed accurately, attend regular training courses to maintain up-to-date knowledge of equipment, and be an active team player sustaining the company’s prestigious reputation.
Requirements of the Resident Engineer
* NVQ Level 3 qualification is essential – certificates required.
* Relevant experience as a FLT Engineer, Vehicle Technician, Master Technician, HGV Technician, Agricultural Engineer, Roadside Recovery, Road Sweeper or similar.
* Technical experience in engines, electrics (diagnostics) and/or hydraulics.
* IT literate and comfortable with using the latest technology.
Salary and Benefits for the Resident Engineer
* Basic salary circa £38k–£41k.
* OTE circa £45k in the first year.
* Paid overtime at time and a half over a standard 40‑hour week.
